During his first address to a joint session of Congress of his second term, President Trump outlined the agenda his administration has implemented since taking office. In the first ten minutes of the speech, he was interrupted by Representative Al Green (D-TX) who stood in opposition to the President's remarks and the planned cuts to Medicaid. Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) had the congressman removed from the House chamber. Democrats held up signs throughout the speech saying "False," "Musk Steals," "Protect Veterans," and others. On the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), President Trump highlighted the areas the department allegedly found fraud and abuse recognizing the department's top adviser, Elon Musk, and thanked him for his work. Other talking points included tariffs, eliminating DEI "woke" policies for military readiness, his determination to take Greenland "one way or the other" for national security purposes, and the on-going Russia-Ukraine and Israel-Hamas wars.
