Kottayam: The CPM regional committee of Kottayam demanded that VN Vasavan should contest the election from the constituency. The party may consider fielding Sindhumol Jacob if there is any demand for a female candidate from the constituency. However, the final decision over the matter will be taken by the State Committee as Vasavan, who is a former legislator of Kottayam, informed his inconvenience in contesting the election.
