Ferrari have announced Frederic Vasseur will replace Mattia Binotto as its new Formula 1 boss. The 54-year-old joins Ferrari as team principal and general manager after spending the last five years with Sauber. The Frenchman is replacing Binotto, who resigned from his role in charge of Ferrari’s F1 operations at the end of November. "As someone who has always held a lifelong passion for motorsport, Ferrari has always represented the very pinnacle of the racing world to me," Frederic Vasseur. Vasseur added that he was looking forward to working with the talented and passionate team in Maranello. Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc made his F1 debut under Vasseur’s stewardship at Sauber in 2018. The Monegasque driver previously said he liked Vasseur’s management style.
