Maria Perryman explains how she uses a Twitter style exit slip for formative assessment. At the end of class, she asks her students to answer one of three questions in 140 characters or less. She uses this slip to ask them questions about topics they explored in class. Because the students have to be concise in their response, Maria can quickly scan the slips to assess learning and plan for the next lesson.
