New England new head coach Thomas Tuchel says he understands the controversy over his appointment but hopes his record in the Premier league with Chelsea gives him "a British edge on my German passport". Tuchel, who has signed an 18-month contract with a remit to win the 2026 World Cup, is the third foreign coach in England's history after Swede Sven Goran-Eriksson and Italian Fabio Capello.
