Minnesota Governor Tim Walz (D) spoke to reporters about the announced drawdown of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents in his state. He said that while a reduced presence of federal agents was welcome, the economic recovery of the Minneapolis-Saint Paul area would take a long time. Also speaking at the news conference were Matt Varilek, the state's top economic development official, and Henry Garnica, the owner of a Saint Paul Latino grocery store who talked about the business impacts of ICE's operations in the region.
