One of Europe's poorest countries is also one of its best-connected. Here’s how

Herticë is a remote village in northeastern Kosovo. In March this year, Herticë was hooked up to high-speed broadband, finalizing a project to connect every village in Kosovo to the internet. It’s called the Kosovo Digital Economy (KODE) Project. It was financed by a $25 million low-interest loan from the World Bank. KODE connected 5,000 households, 107 schools and 43 health facilities in 201 villages to broadband with a speed of up to 100mbps. Now, almost 100% of people in Kosovo use the internet.
