Diet for athletes is always very important, but even more so when it comes to competing in the biggest sporting event in the world. Athletes need to stay fit and find all the energy and fuel they need to compete for the gold medal in food. The dietary program for the athletes of Paris 2024 is called "Food Vision" and is tailored for each of the 15,000 athletes competing. Over 500 dishes and 13 million meals are specially created and served each day to participants, taking into account their food preferences, allergies, and religions. Food Vision aims to be a food plan that is as sustainable, organic and plant-based as possible, and aims to follow six basic guidelines: 1. Doubling plant elements to halve CO2 emissions. 2. Use only 100% certified foods, 80% of French origin, and 30% of organic origin. 3. Halve the use of single-use plastic. 4. Limiting food waste. 5. Ensure used materials are properly recycled. 6. Employ at least 10 percent of staff in food service from professional integration programs.
