Gaia: Asia's Largest Wooden Building Made From Mass Timber

It’s at Nanyang Technological University (NTU) in Singapore. It’s built from a material called mass timber, which is made by gluing layers of wood together to increase their strength. The timber was sourced from sustainably managed forests. Replacing the trees used in its construction will offset 5,800 tonnes of CO2. That’s equivalent to 17,000 return flights between Singapore and Hong Kong.
