Kimberly's Reef: An Underwater Living Laboratory

It began as an idea. Then came the design, the deployment and the waiting. Beneath the waters of Southwest Florida, Kimberly’s Reef has become a living underwater classroom, alive with discovery and change. Created by FGCU’s The Water School for marine research and education, the reef offers scientists a unique window into an evolving underwater world. WGCU spent more than three years documenting its journey, from plans on paper to a growing ecosystem beneath the Gulf.
