Ruger American New Shooter Academy Season 2: Episode 6

Kyle trains with Justice, a competition trap shooter, who is very comfortable with a shotgun. Will the mechanics and skill set of shooting the shotgun carry over to a rifle & carbine? The pressure is on for the experienced shooter to adapt for the family competition to follow. Justice starts with the Ruger 10/22 Takedown rifle, and Kyle points out the difference in sights from what she is used to, first, followed by additional safety notes. She moves up to the Ruger PC Carbine 9mm to further test her ability to adapt to a new platform. Kyle’s takeaway tips: Get a good sight picture with your sights and the target before taking your shot. Remember that what works for a shotgun may not work when shooting a carbine or rifle. Don’t anticipate the recoil of a firearm or you will throw your shot.
