Union Minister Nitin Gadkari inaugurated 16 highway projects in Manipur on Tuesday. The projects will cover a total length of 298 kms with an outlay of Rs 4,148 crores. According to the road ministry, the projects will provide all-weather connectivity to Manipur with the rest of the country and the neighbouring countries. The ministry said projects will boost agricultural, industrial & socio-economic progress. It further added that the projects will facilitate healthcare and emergency service to the remotest areas and generate employment.
