170 European bison are cancelling out the emissions from 43,000 cars

They have reshaped 52 km2 of Romanian grassland. This area now absorbs almost 50,000 tonnes of CO2 every year, 10 times more than before the bison arrived according to modelling by the Yale School of the Environment.
