Hulkenberg To Replace Schumacher At Haas

Nico Hulkenberg will replace Mick Schumacher at Haas next season, the team has confirmed. Schumacher joined Haas alongside Nikita Mazepin in 2021, having won the F2 championship the previous year. Schumacher scored his first points at Silverstone after finishing eighth and followed that up with a sixth place in Austria. However, he has failed to score any more points since then and has contributed less than a third of Haas’s total points. The 23-year-old has also had several crashes which have proved to be costly. "While choosing to go in separate directions for the future, the entire team wishes Mick well for the next steps in his career path and beyond," Guenther Steiner, Haas Team Principal. Williams have the only remaining seat on the grid for 2023, but that will go to their academy driver Logan Sargeant. Sargeant will take the seat provided he finishes in the top six in the standings in F2. He is currently third.
