2.5 billion people worldwide depend on agriculture for their livelihoods. Food and agribusiness represent 35% of all jobs and close to 10% of the world’s GDP. At the same time, food and agriculture account for over 30% of the world’s greenhouse gas emissions and are the leading cause of tropical deforestation and biodiversity loss.
