Older people's health is at greater risk from climate extremes

Data from the Lancet Countdown has found that heat is increasingly disrupting how we move and sleep. People doing outdoor physical activity were at risk of heat stress for a record 28% more hours than the 1990s average. While 6% more hours of sleep were lost than the 1986–2005 average. Too much bad sleep is linked to a range of health problems, from heart disease to dementia.
