One person died after an avalanche in the Silver Fork area of Big Cottonwood Canyon on Saturday. The Salt Lake County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that one person had died, and one person was rescued. The Utah Avalanche Center said on Instagram that the accident occurred on East Bowl in Silver Fork. Deputy Arlan Bennet with the Salt Lake County Sheriff’s Office said crews were dispatched at approximately 12:45 p.m.
