WATCH: Demolition of the old toilets in Tombland

ublic toilets in Norwich which had been closed for eight years have been demolished as part of a £2.5m revamp for a city centre road. The concrete block in Tombland, off Queen Street, was closed by Norwich City Council in 2012 due to maintenance costs. Since then, it has been branded an eyesore amid calls to either reopen the block or demolish it altogether - or refurbish it so a small business could use it. And work to rip down the block started on Tuesday as part of the shake-up to Tombland, which will see bus stops moved and open space created for pedestrians.
