T'puram: The devastating flood that had hit Kerala was caused by the unthoughtful activities of the administration, alleged Opposition Leader Ramesh Chennithala. The sudden release of water from the dams without taking any precaution resulted in the flood, he said. He was pointing out to the shortcomings from the part of the dam managements and said that It was only in Idukki that a few precautions were taken. The government should clarify if any precautions were taken anywhere else. The people should have been informed and alerted rather than just scribble about red, orange or blue alert. Ramesh Chennithala added that the Opposition will be in forefront to fight against the havoc and that they have been supporting the government without any politics.
