A UK task force that will shortly deploy to Mali to join the UN peacekeeping mission is undertaking its final mission rehearsal exercise before deploying. The UK Task Force is primarily drawn from the 1st The Queen’s Dragoon Guards alongside ‘A’ Company, 1st Battalion The Royal Irish Regiment and supported by specialist trades from across the Armed Forces including medical and Explosive Ordnance Disposal capabilities. It will follow in the footsteps of the 2nd Battalion Royal Anglian Regiment led task force who are currently deployed.
