doctors using TikTok to reassure people's vaccine concerns

In recent weeks, the global effort to build confidence in the emerging covid-19 vaccines has sparked interest amongst millions around the world. Since launching one month ago, mobile video posts by #TeamHalo scientists at the forefront of the race to develop a Covid vaccine, have been viewed by over 18 million people. The 21 scientists, known as ‘Guides’, volunteered to post videos on TikTok and other social media platforms, explaining their work in vaccine development. The growing number of Guides are drawn from universities and research institutes in the UK, France, Spain, USA, Canada, Brazil, India, South Africa, Qatar and UAE. Dr Paul McKay, research scientist at Imperial College London, is part of a team developing an experimental coronavirus vaccine.
