Edward Christopher Sheeran was born in England in 1991. He began singing in a church choir at the age of four, and picked up the guitar to write songs after his dad took him to an Eric Clapton concert. He began recording music at the age of 13, and performed in several small venues before being accepted to the Academy of Contemporary Music after high school. At 19, he was invited to perform at a club owned by actor Jamie Foxx, and ended up with an invitation to stay in America at Foxx’s home. Sheeran’s debut studio album, “Plus”, entered the British charts at number one in 2011, fueled by its #1 single, “The A Team.” Later that year he co-wrote a single on One Direction’s first album, and collaborated and toured with Taylor Swift a short time later. After three studio albums, multiple collaborations, several acting gigs, and setting up his own music label, Ed Sheeran continues to top music charts across the world.
