Groups representing farmers testified on crop insurance and other federal safety net programs for farmers at a Senate Agriculture subcommittee hearing. Two panels of witnesses represented lobbying groups of larger agricultural producers and farmers growing crops like soybeans, corn, and cotton, and talked about what potential changes they wanted to see in a future reauthorization of federal farm programs. Legislators were expected to pass some form of a farm bill by the end of 2023.
