American Presidents: Life Portrait of Bill Clinton

In the forty-first in a series on American presidents, scholars discussed the life and career of Bill Clinton. Among the issues discussed were Clinton's childhood and early adulthood, his terms as governor of Arkansas, his campaign for the presidency and the scandals during his presidency. During the program they showed still photographs and video of President Clinton and toured his boyhood home. Ms. Christian, a teacher from William Jefferson Clinton Elementary School in Sherwood, Arkansas was interviewed via telephone. Mr. Maraniss participated by remote connection from Washington, DC and talked about his biography of President Clinton, [First in His Class]. Ms. Sorenson talked about President Clinton and about her book, [Dead Center: Clinton-Gore Leadership and the Perils of Moderation] during the latter half of the program. They responded to audience telephone calls.
