Mom Who Never Had Quinceanera Or Wedding Has Dream Party

A mom who never had a quinceanera or wedding fought back tears of joy when her children surprised her with the party she'd always dreamed of and making her a "princess for the day." Growing up in Mexico, Laura Camarillo, 67, was one of eight brothers and sisters, with their dad as the sole breadwinner, and so Laura's parents couldn't afford a quinceanera for any of their children. When Laura got married, their wedding was also understated and took place in a court, her son, JC, said, with Laura not wearing a wedding dress for the occasion. Over the years, JC and his siblings, who are now based in Los Angeles, California with their mom, realized she’d never experienced the magic of being a princess for a day, and they wanted to give her a heartwarming occasion. Each year they would talk about this plan, and with the siblings' financial situations improving this year, they decided to make their mom's dream a reality for her birthday. JC, 36, called on the help of a friend, who offered her ranch home at a small cost, while another friend, a party planner in Ventura County, put together the finishing touches and decorations. On October 20, Laura was told by JC, a hair and makeup artist, that the family would be taking her to a mariachi brunch. When Laura arrived at the Santa Paula ranch with her husband and daughters, though, she was stunned at what she saw.
