The body of a Colorado hiker, who had been missing for months, was found dead, but his loyal dog, who miraculously survived, stayed by his side. Rich Moore and his 14-year-old Jack Russell terrier Finney were reported missing on August 19. The duo failed to return from a 12,500-foot hike in Blackhead Peak, a rugged mountain range 35 miles north of New Mexico, DogTime reported. Authorities conducted an extensive search for Moore and his pup, spending 2,000 hours looking for the pair, to no avail. 9News says a hunter stumbled across Moore’s body and was shocked to see Finney close by. Search and rescue flew Moore and Finney off the mountain before the loyal terrier was reunited with her family. Finney was examined and treated at an animal hospital, while Archuleta County Sheriffs don't suspect any foul play in the incident.
