CAUGHT ON CAMERA: Snorklers Rescued After Pulled from Shore By Strong Current in Florida

Two snorkelers found themselves in serious trouble after the strong outgoing current at Destin's East Pass pulled them farther and farther from shore on July 4, 2026. Tired and unable to make it back, they were running out of options but fortunately two members of our Okaloosa County Sheriff's Office Marine Unit were on the water. They were able to reach them, pull them safely aboard, and bring them back to shore unharmed.
