A man from Texas was arrested in Salt Lake City while wandering around on a Delta Air Lines flight without a designated seat. Baffled by this, flight attendants discovered that the man in question had photographed a fellow passenger’s boarding pass to board the plane. Wicliff Yves Fleurizard told police in Utah that he was on a snowboarding trip but needed to get back home to see family. The New York Times reported that the 26-year-old used his Florida ID to get through security, but it’s unclear if he used the same boarding pass. Court documents said authorities saw Fleurizard taking photos of “multiple passengers’ phones while they were not looking." But because his actions occurred “in the boarding area,” it’s believed he got through security by using a different boarding pass. A minor female passenger had issues boarding when “the system showed she was already on board,” according to court documents. Fleurizard “spent a significant amount of time in the lavatory” on board before being questioned by cabin crew on the full flight. When no seats were available and his cover was blown, Fleurizard was arrested and charged with being a stowaway.
