Joe Biden To Bernie Sanders And His Supporters: We Share A Common Goal

Speaking a small event after canceling an Ohio rally over coronavirus concerns, Joe Biden strikes a conciliatory note in his Michigan primary victory speech: "As I said from the beginning, this election is one that has character on the ballot -- character of candidates and character of the nation is on the ballot," Biden said. "It’s a comeback, not just for this campaign, but for the soul of this nation." "Looks like we’re going to have another great night... This campaign is taking off and I believe it's going to do well from this point on,” he said, adding that he "takes nothing for granted." "If you’re willing, join us." "We need you, we want you, there is a place in our campaign for each of you," he said. "And I want to thank Bernie Sanders and his supporters for their tireless energy and passion." "We share a common goal, and together, we’ll defeat Donald Trump. We’ll defeat him together." "Winning means uniting America, not sowing more division and anger," he continued. "It means having a president who not only knows how to fight but knows how to heal." "Together we're bringing this party together," Biden said.
