Harvard Morgue Manager Was Selling Body Parts

The Harvard morgue manager, Cedric Lodge, has been charged with buying and selling human remains over the internet. He allegedly took the body parts from cadavers donated to Harvard University's medical school. With the help of his wife, Denise, sold the remains to buyers in Pennsylvania and Massachusetts from 2018 to 2021. When medical students are finished using donated cadavers, they are often buried or cremated. Lodge and his wife are accused of bypassing this practice and selling the remains for profit instead. Some of their most loyal customers have been accused of spending upwards of $37,000 on human remains over the four years. The indictment includes a PayPal memo for $1,000 that reads “head number 7”. If convicted, all involved in the crimes could face upwards of 15 years in prison. "Some crimes defy understanding", Gerard M. Karam, United States Attorney.
